History

Arizona’s Steakhouse was founded with co-owners Mark Craig and Kevin Cox in Greenville, South Carolina in October of 1995. Mark Craig and Kevin Cox were inspired to create an establishment that was a reflection of their passion for premium steaks, great wines, and exceptional service. 

They wanted to create an all-encompassing dining experience. They also operate twelve Italian restaurants, which are named Travinia Italian Kitchen that has five locations across South Carolina, four locations in Virginia and two locations within North Carolina, and one location in Florida.

Arizona has several locations across the Southeast with the majority of locations located in South Carolina and one in Georgia. Some of the locations include Greenville, Simpsonville, Columbia, Lexington, and Columbia in South Carolina, as well as Lithonia, Georgia. These South Carolina restaurants have a more relaxed and family-oriented style too. The Georgia restaurant however is more upscale and trendy. It is located in Lithonia. Georgia restaurant is situated near the Mall in Stonecrest located in Lithonia. Servers are dressed in all black. Customer service is the top priority in this restaurant. Therefore, the staff is taught with a particular concentration on paying attention to the details of service.

The restaurant is associated with an organization called the Pendleton Place Children’s Shelter and Mac Foundation. Mac Foundation, through its Arizona’s Children’s Charities for the last two years. The restaurant also holds an annual tournament of golf every year to raise money for charitable causes. The restaurant has raised more than $850,000 since the first event in 1999, to support the work for the Pendleton Place Children’s Shelter. The tournament is also known as”the” Arizona Open. A number of other athletes have been part of the team over the past 16 years. Even today, The Arizona Open continues its tradition of safeguarding children with The Pendleton Place Children’s Shelter.

Review

The operating hours are Monday through Sunday beginning at 11:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. There’s a variety of food items available. The menu is comprised of small plates, side dishes such as soups, salads sandwich, burgers and other sandwiches pasta, steaks and chops, desserts, entrees, and drinks. The seafood menu is located under the section for entrees on the menu. There’s a separate drinks menu that includes wine, beer special margaritas, specialty margaritas, and martinis. The prime rib that has been aged is served at 5 p.m. The restaurant also offers an order-to-go menu and catering menus available for patrons. The restaurant also has a children’s menu at the request of customers.

The small plates cost from $8 to $14. They comprise French Fried Grits, Fish Tacos, Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Chipotle Calamari, Salmon Chips, Fish Basket, Tempura Shrimp Basket along with Jumbo Lump Crab Cake. Side dishes range from the $4-$5 range. The usual side dishes consist of Shoestring French fries, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Oven Baked Beans, Coleslaw, Corn Souffle, Jalapeno Cheese Grits Creamed Corn and Creamed Spinach and Seasonal Sauteed Vegetables. The topsides include Black Beans and Brown Rice, Chorizo Mac-N-Cheese, Loaded Baked Potato, Sweet Potato Hash Browns, and Thick-Sliced onion Rings along with Sauteed Spinach.

The salads cost between $8-12 and include Arizona’s House as well as Arizona’s Caesar, Chopped, Granny Smith Apple, Hickory Grilled Chicken, The Blue Door, and Pacific Ahi Tuna. Also, there is a Vegetable Plate available. This Homemade Soup and Salad available is a combination of soup served with Arizona or Caesar salad. The restaurant serves homemade dressings with signature recipes including Buttermilk-Garlic, Honey-Mustard, Blue Cheese, Thousand Island, Basil Ranch, Balsamic Vinaigrette, and Honey-Lime Vinaigrette. The sandwiches and burgers cost between $10 and $12.

It is worth noting that Steaks and Chops are priced between $21 and $34. Steak and Chops choices include Arizona’s Signature Sirloin and Father Kino’s Filet, Bone-in Ribeye along Pork Chop. The guests can choose between including a shrimp skewer, crab cake or grilled salmon, grill tuna, or lobster tail. The prices for the food range from $14 to $40. The Entree options consist of BBQ Chicken Grill, Chicken Tenders Platter, Scottsdale Chicken, Babyback ribs, Oak Creek Chopped Pork Platter, Denver Lamb Ribs, Hickory Grilled Atlanta Salmon, Arizona Fish and Chips, Tempura Fried Shrimp Platter Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, and Tempura Fried Cold Lobster Tail of Water. The pork chops, steaks, and crab cakes are a favorite among customers. While the service could do with some improvements, however, the food is fantastic. The guests seem to be enjoying the wonderful meals and also the ambiance that the place offers.
